'Even though it hurts me, it makes me feel good': Girl who can't stop drinking GASOLINE

If gas odor was not a health hazard sufficient to meet the girl who drinks it.

Lifting a red gas canister before the cameras, a girl named Shannon shows his claimed addiction to drink gasoline TLC television show My Strange Addiction.

"Tingles at first and then burn the back of my throat," says Shannon described his toxic habit reaching up to 12 teaspoons per day.





"Although it hurts me, makes me feel good," he says, licking any cover or drink straight from the can says is his favorite way.

His mother says that at first could not believe it when he heard but then smelled the odor undeniable substance in the breath of his daughter.


"I take the cap and I breathe in the fumes that come out of forcing the can," says Shannon, demonstrating their behavior.

TLC is close to that which has consumed more than five gallons in the last year.

"Drinking gasoline can cause burns, vomiting, diarrhea and, in very large quantities, drowsiness or death," the New York State Department of Health writes. For those reason, "toxic" they explain.

The whole episode, which debuts on Sunday, includes several other strange addictions documented by the TV show including a woman carrying a doll's head wherever he goes and another that finds a need to smell Pine-Sol cleaning fluid each 15 minutes.

Shannon addiction to drink gasoline comes days after a North Carolina man died after accidentally drinking from a bottle containing the same liquid.



Gary Allen, 43, immediately spat out the liquid, which is also wrong on his clothes when found in the kitchen sink to the apartment of his friend and mistook him for a drink.

In his next error, which later went outside to light a cigarette, igniting the fire that consumed him.

The highly flammable liquid is said to have been used to help remove fat from the hands of his friend who is a mechanic.

Havelock police called him "a rare incident."
