Harry Potter and the film-makers' magic: Incredibly detailed model of Hogwarts Castle used for every film in blockbusting series is revealed for the first time

Since the first Harry Potter novel was released almost 15 years, children and adults alike have fantasized about visiting your school famous for wizards and witches.

But, how are you incredible pictures show, they need to dream more.

Whether demonstrating the ability of magic or not - the fans now have the opportunity to get as close to Hogwarts Castle, and who ever can get.

This extraordinary model of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is due to go on display for first time




The model was constructed for the first film - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - and has been used for exterior shots in every movie since.

When all the time spent by 86 artists and members of the crew is added, which took an incredible 74 years to build.

Measuring 50 meters wide, has more than 2,500 fiber optic lights to simulate the flashlight torches and students who pass through the halls.

It even has miniature owls in the Owlery and hinges.

The castle, which is based in Durham Cathedral and Alnwick Castle, now will be on display as part of The Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour at Leavesden Studios, near Watford.

Bafta award-winning production designer Stuart Craig designed and built the castle with the rest of his team.

He said, 'All right the viaduct is in fact the cathedral of Durham.

"But the page has changed so that there are high, sharp needles so there is plenty of theatrical exaggeration.

"It's very bizarre, I have to say."

The castle will be on display as part of the Warner Bros Studio Tour of Harry Potter in London from March 31.

The tour promises: "For once, the doors will be open for everyone in the study began.

"You will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see many things that the camera never showed up. From incredibly detailed game to spectacular costumes, props and animatronics, Warner Bros.

'Studio Tour of London offers a unique example of British art technology and extraordinary talent that went to make the series of most successful films of all time.

The three-hour tour will also take fans of Harry Potter inside the Great Hall and Dumbledore's office.

Visitors can also step on cobblestones from Diagon Alley, walking past the storefronts of Ollivanders wand shop, Flourish and Blotts, the Weasleys Wizard wheezing, Gringotts Bank and Eeylops Owl Emporium.

Supports iconic films such as Nimbus 2000 broomstick Harry and Hagrid's motorcycle will be on display along with life size models of some of the creatures from the movies.

Other film sets included in the tour includes the Gryffindor common room, the boys dormitory, Hagrid's hut, classroom and office potion Umbridge at the Ministry of Magic.
